HUNTINGTON, Ind. — English Professor Jeremiah Davis, Ph.D., was voted the Professor of the Year during the university’s annual Forester Night.
Leading to the bestowment of the award, Dean of Faculty Luke Fetters, Ph.D., relayed what students had said about Davis in their course evaluations.
“An amazing professor who makes learning fun,”reported one student. “His class always challenged me to look at different perspectives and think deeply about the texts.”
“I did it for my country. Peace out, guys,” was Davis’ short thank you after receiving the Award.
Finishing his third year of teaching at HU, Davis reflected on his hiring process.
“From the moment I stepped foot on this campus, I knew that I wanted to be here,” Davis said. “When I finished my interview, Dr. Fetters asked me if there was anything else I wanted to say, and I told him: ‘I have to have this job.’”
Other events of the evening included:
- Elijah Persinger announced as Student Body President for his third term
- A special thank-you video was played for the retirement of Ron Coffey, Ph.D., vice president for student life
- Seniors Victoria Hilderbrand, political science and entrepreneurial small business management major, and Daniel Striegel, criminal justice major, won the Forester of the Year Awards
