One of life’s biggest blockades is the phrase, “I don’t have time to.” It is the biggest reason why people do not accomplish what they want to in life, or feel as if they cannot accomplish the fun things in life. It is a bad habit of humans to feel as if they cannot take time to do things for pleasure and that everything must be for work or for bettering oneself.
Well, good news. You have just been blessed with having a ton of time on your hands! Now, I understand that this quarantine is not fun in the slightest, but we live in a wonderful time of streaming services. Here are some of the best things coming to those streaming services, and what watch whilst being confined to your house. These movies will let you escape for a while.
Coming to Netflix on April 1st:
The Social Network: The movie follows a young Mark Zuckerberg and the founding of Facebook. Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Rooney Mara. Great drama with phenomenal acting.
Cadillac Records: A look into the rise of rock and roll in Chicago in the 1950’s, following the best names in rock, like Chuck Berry, Etta James and others. Starring Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, and Beyoncé. This features a whirlwind of a stunning soundtrack and the truths of 50’s rock and roll.
Mud: A story of two teenage boys who unknowingly befriend a fugitive and try and help him get to his lover without getting caught by the police. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Reece Witherspoon, and Tye Sheridan. This is a gritty, coming-of-age movie told beautifully and hauntingly.
Coming to Hulu on April 8th:
The Book of Eli: An epic post-apocalyptic piece following a survivor protecting the secrets to saving mankind. Starring Denzel Washington, Mila Kunis, and Gary Oldmen. This is a classic heroic film with a deeper meaning.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2: An amazing action-packed movie following a revenge-set assassin on her journey to seek out those of her “friends” that tried to kill her. Starring Uma Thurman, Michael Madsen, Lucy Liu, and Daryl Hannah. This is an incredibly done film that is told in a very unique way with nods to classic martial arts movies.
Parasite: This movie follows a family living in lower-class South Korea and their twisted way to try and create a better life for themself. Starring Song Kang Ho, Lee Sun Kyun, and Cho Yeo Jeong. An absolutely incredible thriller with crazy twists and turns.
