Juice Jar is the perfect shop to visit for a refreshing lunch or a productive study session!

Last month, I started my hunt for healthy food options around Huntington for the benefit of Huntington University students, and this month, I am continuing to do just that. This time around, I was forced to expand my radius as Huntington presents limited options. Nonetheless, I managed to discover a delightful cafe/juice bar tucked into Fort Wayne just off of Jefferson and Covington Road. The drive is a bit far if you are in a pinch, but I assure you, the trip is worth it!
The shop is called Juice Jar, and they offer a small but delicious variety of juices as well as smoothies, smoothie bowls, toasts, salads and tea. The atmosphere of the shop is light, fresh, bubbly, and modern — a perfect place to study at or sit down with friends. Not only was the store’s appearance impressive, but the food presentation was on par (and absolutely mouth-watering).
I ordered two things: the Acai Power Bowl (nuts, granola, blueberries, bananas, maple syrup) and the Garden Avocado Toast (avocado, celery, tomato, carrot, balsamic). The bowl was remarkably fresh and left me feeling rejuvenated — the mix of fresh fruit and nuts assured me I was getting plenty of vitamins, protein and healthy fats. It’s a great meal to eat for breakfast, lunch or post-workout. The toast was really tasty; I would definitely order it again. Again, all the ingredients tasted fresh, and I was especially impressed by the fact that they offer gluten-free bread!
Something I will make a note of is that the menu is a bit on the pricier side (ranges from $5-$12), but considering you’re paying for good and fresh fuel for your body, I think the pretty penny is reasonable. Overall, my experience was memorable, and I am excited to return soon. Juice Jar is the perfect shop to visit for a refreshing lunch or a productive study session!
