While it’s important to pray for others, make sure to also pray for yourself.

This month for those who need prayer around the world, I’d like to ask that you pray for yourself. Sometimes we get so caught up with the world around us that we forget to check in with God and our relationship with Him, as well as how we are doing mentally and spiritually. In order for us to continue to pray for others and be there for them, we have to make sure we are doing okay, too. Sometimes, the big problems and inequality around us seem more important than our own selves, but you are just as important.
I ask that you pray for your happiness to be contagious, pray that God continues to show you your beauty and strength as an individual. Thank Him for loving you and showing you His glory. Thank Him for the things He’s put you through good and bad because you wouldn’t be where at right now without it all. Thank Him for the people in your life.
If you are going through something and you are struggling, ask Him to give you strength and hope. When you pray, pray for those around you, but pray for yourself, too. Reflect on your life and emotions. Tell God your accomplishments, your happiness. And tell Him your troubles and worries as well. When you do this, close your eyes for a couple minutes and breathe in the blessing He has for you.
This month think about this scripture: 1 Peter 5:10: “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”
