If you’re craving a healthy sweet treat, give Healthy Hut in Huntington a try!

If you go to Huntington University, you can probably say you’ve cured your study cravings with Taco Bell, McDonald’s, or Pizza Hut before. It’s never hard to find a fast-food fix as a student, especially when your options are limited to living in a small town. But did you know that eating junk food can actually affect your cognitive performance? Studies say that eating unhealthy while studying can hinder your memory — so your pre-exam cram sessions are probably all for nothing.
Upon my interest to find health-conscious options around Huntington, I stumbled across Healthy Hut. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the staff, who were more than happy to help upon telling them it was my first visit. Healthy Hut offers a unique three-step ordering process.
You start by choosing your shot of aloe, which is great for hydration, clear skin, nutrition boost and balancing pH levels. Next, you choose your flavor of tea, which you can get either hot or iced. To top off your order, you have a choice between 60+ flavors of protein “milkshakes,” which all roughly ring in at about 24 grams of protein and only 5 grams of sugar! Their shakes are mostly composed of ice, protein powder and natural flavor additives.
These sweet treats are perfect breakfast fixes, post-workout recovery, or just a healthy dessert alternative. Despite only having 5 grams of sugar, the protein shakes were plenty sweet and filling. I was very impressed with the wide variety of flavors. I got coffee cake, cookies n’ cream and strawberry cheesecake. All three were really distinct and very delicious! The total three-in-one experience costs $8 or even less if you share them on social media.
In conclusion, I was overall amazed at how I could hardly tell I was drinking a healthy protein shake. If you ever have a hankering for guilt-free dessert, give Healthy Hut a try!
