Why several students are ready for a new year.

As this year comes to an end, another year at HU is soon beginning. Although these next couple weeks are stressful for most, students on campus are still holding on and looking forward to their next semester of being a forester.
“I’m looking forward to having my more intricate nursing classes and doing clinical in hospitals,” said Kristen Kays, a nursing major here at HU.
She also expressed her excitement over Philosophy of Religion — a philosophy and Bible class taught by Dr. Alexander that will explore multiple arguments for God’s existence.
Just like Kays, Courtney Budde — an art education major — said that she has high hopes for the next semester.
“I’m looking forward to new classes and more experiences,” said Budde.
Many other HU foresters feel the same way. Every single one talked about new beginnings and plans for the future. Jewel Harris, a student in film production and broadcasting, said that she wants to use the new year to be responsible again and restart.
Not only will the next semester help these students start a new chapter of their lives, but it will also help each one find the person they wish to be.
“I look forward to seeing how much more I can grow as a person here at HU,” said Erin Quick. “I’m excited to see what new things God has lined up for me.”
Quick is happy to see all of the opportunities that come at her next year at Huntington. She knows already that her class discussions, friendships, faculty discussions, and education will open all new doors for her in the year to come.
As for the rest of us, we should all be looking forward to a fresh start. It’s a new year, a new semester, and new classes. These next few weeks will be tough with final exams, deadlines, and the holidays. Just remember to keep looking forward, but don’t forget to focus on what’s right in front of you. Let’s end this semester with positivity, and then make 2020 our best year yet at HU.
