As they near the end of the regular season, the Foresters aren’t slowing down.
“We are playing some of the best volleyball we have played all year,” Coach Kelsey Herber said. “These girls continue to work hard, improve, and compete in each match they play.”
The Foresters are currently ranked seventh in the conference. All season, the team has worked hard to maintain a positive mindset and grow in their confidence and relationships. However, that’s not the only area where they have improved. Herber says she has seen improvement in serving deep and aggressively, speeding up the tempo of the offense, and bringing vocal energy every point.
“One of the most exciting matches we have had all season took place in our tournament in Iowa where we won a match in 4 where we had to overcome a deficit of 8 points in 2 of the sets,” Herber said. “I love how these girls never count themselves out of a match.”
The girls have also spent time doing activities outside of practice and matches, including going to a haunted house as a team.
As the Foresters finish up the regular season, Herber is proud of her team and looks forward to the conference tournament.
“It is our goal to play the best match we possibly can on each given day,” she said. “We can then surrender the outcomes to God when we know we have put our best effort into the preparation and process.”
