Heading into the end of their fall season, HU men and women’s golf have had a good season. Starting back in August with a tournament at Medford Valley, they have had positive results.
“My highlight for this season was 72-69 shooting 3 under par at Mount Vernon,” said senior Logan De Maa in an interview. “That was my best game in my whole college career.”
De Maa is one of the leading players on the men’s team. He is excited about how his season went and made goals for the spring season.
“My goal is to be a good leader for the young guys and to place in the top 25 percent in conference,” said De Maa.
The girl’s team also had a good season with their own goals for the coming spring season.
“My goal is paying in conference and seeing team and personal improvement from last year,” said Betsy Schroeder in an email interview. “It will be my last season of competitive golf.”
As a team, De Maa said their goal is to place in the top 50 percent in tournaments. The teams for both men and women consists of a lot of freshmen.
“We have a fairly young team and we have shown what we can do in the past by setting and breaking records,” Schroeder said. “I’m excited about the rest of the season; we have all worked hard and put in lots of work on and off the course.”
The upcoming spring season for both teams will have great success with both teams seeing great growth of the players.
De Maa said it best: “I’m excited for the spring and watching these young guys grow.”
