My visit to Huntington’s Risen Savior Church was a positive one.

One thing HU students are looking for when they come here is an enriched spiritual life, and there are no shortage of opportunities that can provide. The Huntington area has a lot of great churches with many different denominations for students to choose from. The range of different services and communities allows students to find themselves a perfect fit.
One of these choices is the Anglican denomination, more specifically Risen Savior on Grayston Avenue. This service is about two hours long, but don’t let that intimidate you; the time really flies. With energetic live music and dynamic sermons, it’s easy to get lost in the beauty of the service. It doesn’t feel any longer than watching a movie because the energy doesn’t die out.
The community is small, but very tight-knit. You have the opportunity to say hello to everyone during the offering of peace, which makes you feel very at home. Big services can sometimes lose that feeling of closeness, and the love and intimacy that comes with it. Risen Savior doesn’t have that problem, cultivating that feeling of togetherness that we strive for.
To any students currently looking for a Church, or interested in seeing what and Anglican service is like, I couldn’t recommend Risen Savior enough.
