“HU Trends” is a new column about the latest fashion of Huntington University. What’s in and trending right now at HU?
Well, this month it’s Crocs and Adidas joggers. These items are popular among both guys and girls here at HU. Black or white Crocs are the most trending right now. When I asked people why Crocs were their shoe of choice, they often stated it was because Crocs are comfortable and easy to slip on.
If you really want to add some extra fashion to Crocs, puts some Jibbitz on them. Jibbitz are accessories for Crocs. You can get letters, numbers, characters, etc. Jibbitz add a cute, high-fashion, custom look to your Crocs. Something interesting about Crocs is the material also softens with body heat, thus molding the shoe to the foot of the wearer and providing a comfortable fit.
Crocs were originally intended for use on boats and in other outdoor activities like hiking, fishing and gardening. Crocs have also found a market with working people who spend a lot of time on their feet, such as healthcare and restaurant workers.
But now they have found their way to the feet of many HU students. Black Adidas joggers with white stripes are most popular right now. When I asked why people wear them, I often got the response that they are comfortable and go with anything. Athletic wear is very popular at HU among students, even among those who aren’t considered “athletes.”
Athletic wear is trending among college students because it’s comfortable yet cute and fashionable. The Adidas company is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe and the second largest in the world. It was founded in 1948 by Adolf Dassler. It is currently based in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The “Three Stripes” seen in its logo were bought from Karhu Sports in 1951.
